Local Museums
There are a number of local museums, societies and organisations dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Illawarra heritage and history. There are also state and national bodies that are concerned with environmental protection including the preservation of historical sites.

| HARS Aviation Museum | Open 9.30am to 3.30pm daily at Illawarra Airport, Albion Park Rail |
| Helensburgh and District Historical Society | Waterfall, Garawarra, Stanwell Park, Stanwell Tops, Otford, Lilyvale and Cawley. Old Mine Surgery Museum records coal mining, railways, forestry, education, sport, social clubs, religion and all other aspects of village life. |
