IHS meetings

The Illawarra Historical Society meets on the first Thursday of each month:

Level 1, Wollongong City Library, Burelli St Wollongong

6.30pm to 8.00pm

A guest speaker talks for about 40 minutes on a topic of historical or general interest.  Questions are encouraged.

Everyone is welcome to attend.  It is free and refreshments are available at the end of the presentation.

Free parking is available in the multi-storey carpark in Stewart St opposite to the ALDI store.

7 April - Peter Hobbins from the Australian National Maritime Museum will talk about the wreck of the 'Queen of Nations' off Corrimal Beach on 31 May 1881.

5 May - Mark Johnston and Brian Wiseman will talk about William John Wiseman [1842-1922] local businessman, politician, philanthropist and land developer whose home, 'Hillside' is in Edward St Wollongong
