ENTERTAINMENT, THEATRES, SOCIAL EVENTS
Prior to the Second World War, the same venue was used for a variety of entertainment. In addition to purpose-built cinemas, entertainment venues included the town hall, church halls and premises operated by societies such as fraternal lodges. Many existed for a period, then disappeared or were repurposed as demand for the facility changed.
