CUNNINGHAM, John (1800-1851)

Convicted of theft, John Cunningham was sentenced to 7 years transportation and arrived in Sydney on the Shipley in March 1822.  From about 1831 until 1843, he built and repaired ships at the southern end of what was to become Belmore Basin at Wollongong Harbour.
