Royal National Park

The Royal National Park was proclaimed on 26 April 1879 as the first national park in Australia and the second in the world after Yellowstone National Park (1872).  The extent of the Park has been extended over the years by the addition of adjacent Crown lands.  The Park includes Garie, Burning Palms, Werong, Era within the Wollongong local government area.
